Got Questions?
-
When does your season start?
-
Our first meeting/rehearsal is at the beginning of August and our last performance is usually April or May. We take a break over the summer.
-
-
How often is practice?
-
You're provided with a songbook and a CD of the songs to allow you to practice on your own time, but we always practice together before performing.
-
We have 2 dedicated rehearsal days, one in early September and one after the holidays, in early January. Both are in Amarillo.

-
How often are performances?
-
You can check out our current performance schedule by clicking here. Each season is about the same.
-
Additionally, we go caroling the first Saturday in December.
-
-
Do I have to drive every time?
-
Most of the ladies carpool, but no hard feelings if you'd rather not.
-
-
Do I have to be a member of a Baptist Church?
-
Our members are from many different Christian denominations, but the choir itself is sponsored by the Baptist General Convention. Any denomination is welcome.
-
-
What do I wear?
- For performances, we wear our issued cardigan, a black top, black pants (or full length skirt), black shoes with black hose or trouser socks, and a (faux) pearl necklace. Oh, and your provided name tag!
- If you are going to wear earrings, we ask that you wear pearls, or something simple, if you don't have any pearls.
-
How much is this going to cost me?
-
There are annual dues and a one time cost for your performance cardigan and name tag. Everything adds up to about $100 or less for your first year, but financial help is available if you need it, or you can make payments. After you have your cardigan and name tag, it's only the annual dues of $35.
-
We have a one night retreat the first Friday in August to switch out songs, go over the new selections, and fellowship. If you can't stay the night on Friday, it's ok! We'll hope to see you Saturday. The cost varies on whether you're staying the night, rooming alone, or sharing a room.

-
Do you sing acapella?
-
Typically, the only instrument accompaniment is a piano. There are a selections that are acapella.

-
I was at one of your church performances and a love offering was collected, what does that money go to?
-
The money collected during our love offering goes to help offset the cost of our mission trips, there are some examples on the about us page, under "Our History". Activities during these trips are more than a simple choir performance.
